THE REFURBISHMENT OF THIS BEAUTIFUL RESIDENCE IS ONGOING, WITH ENGINEERING ADVICE PROVIDED BY OUR TEAM AS WE WORK WITH THE ARCHITECT AND BUILDER.

An extensive alterations and additions comprising of both complying development and DA work as part of a major renovation of this extensive residence. We have provided engineering advice including design and documentation, temporary works and support advice and construction supervision. This project has been divided into various components and as the residence is remodeled.

We have provided the design, documentation and construction methodology to extend the lift pit by approximately 800mm to accomodate a faster lift within the existing shaft. Our advice included the temporary support of the existing concrete lift shaft which was a major structural supporting element of the buidling as the foundation was removed and deepened.

We have worked closely with the builder to remove an existing chimney. This chimney was supporting two major structural steel beams that were supporting the slab over. We designed and detailed the new beams supports to shift the columns within the line of the brickwork to provide a clean wall. This process enlarged and proportioned the room which was critical to meet the clients brief.

We have approved the removal of a concrete column supporting an existing concrete slab, masonry walls and slate roof over. Our scope involved assessing the existing structure to determine the suitability and reinforce it as required. During construction in addition to this column removal an access corridor was proposed underneath the columns as well. So working with the builder we developed the temporary supports to stabalise the structure to excavate underneath the existing building as part of thsi works.

Additionally, we have provided the design and documentation of new terrace slabs, retaining walls, bathrooms and significant changes to internal wall layouts. We have provided planning and guidance to ensure that the structural integrity of the residence.

We have worked closely with the architect and builder and will continue overseeing the construction in the new year.
