THIS BEAUTIFUL, ARCHITECTURALLY DESIGNED HOUSE IS NEARING COMPLETION IN THE NEW SUBURB OF GREENHILLS BEACH.
We worked closely with both the architect and builder to achieve a model that allowed openness and flow throughout the home while addressing the structural requirements.
The design included a concrete slab for the first floor with exposed concrete perimeter beams. A lift was also incorporated into the design, and provisions have been made for a loft level to be added in the future.
Structurally, upstanding beams were hidden within the walls to disperse the upper level loads to the support walls below. This allowed the large open span living spaces without the use of bulkheads that would penetrate the flat ceilings. Blockwork walls were strategically placed where high load carrying capacity was required, allowing for open facades to take advantage of the beautiful surrounds.
